Got my Facet Injections!

I got my facet injections today! I had levels L4/5 and L5/S1 done. Initially I was only getting L4/5 done but mid through the procedure the doctor decided to do L5/S1 free of charge. I figured I don't want to go through another round of injections in case L5/S1 was the culprit.

I'll be keeping a pain diary and i'll post an update in 2 weeks. Wish me luck!

CT-Scan of my M6-L, 2-months Post-op

Boy this is awesome. My brother is dating a girl who's parents own an diagnostics & imaging center in my city. I got the hook up and got the royal treatment is selecting any time of scan I wanted. I told them I wanted plain x-rays of flexion and extension of my M6-L Artificial Disc, but they had no idea what I was talking about so they just put me though a CT-Scan. Right out of the scan they let me sit down and see the results... AMAZING VIEWS OF THE DISC. Much Needed Update - 6 Years Into the M6-L

Hey guys! Thank you all for all the comments and e-mails. I've tried to respond to everyone; I've even had a few skype calls with prospective patients. You may all be wondering how I'm doing, so here's a quick update: I'm doing GREAT . No issues whatsoever. I've managed to control my facet pain by working on core exercises, with the added extra benefit of having a nice 6-pack, so cheers to looking good naked! As always, I stay away from long runs, squats, jumping, and any impact sports. When my back feels stiff, I do a bit of stretching and move on with my day. A word of warning to prospective patients though: despite me being happy with the surgery, some of you might not be as fit as I am. I'd consider this a warning: you might end up with facet issues. I'd say i'm 80%-85% there.

My back is feeling stronger and stronger every day. I'd say that remaining 15% can be divided three ways: -5% in core strengthening -5% in nerves healing -5% in my own confidence in doing more things I still haven't gone jogging. I feel like i'm not ready yet, mainly because i've been hiding from exercising for the past 2 months. I promise i'll try in the next month.. i'm joining a gym here in Miami! Nerves are upset sometimes, but most of the time they are wonderful! They usually get upset after a long day of furniture shopping, nothing else. Overall, everything's great! I'm 100% better than pre-op. I've been out drinking and dancing, and the next day is bliss (except for hangovers of course!). I promise i'll get on that treadmill soon! If anyone has any questions, do let me know! I'll answer them ASAP.
